journal jar

there's this idea i've had for blogging floating around in my head for over a year now that i might actually try.  i found the idea on the internet somewhere for getting your kids to do writing assignments, and i've been having josey do it at least 3x a week for the past year or so.  he comes up with some interesting (and some not-so-interesting when he has writer's block) things to talk about.

it is called "journal jar". i created about 100+ questions or writing suggestions on little slips of paper and placed them into glass jars for both josey and me for when we need some help unblocking our creativity.  and like i said, josey's been doing it for school for quite some time; i had every intent on doing it also.  but life gets in the way and sometimes we put our desires on the back burner.

that being said, i'm going to attempt it in my blog.  what i will do is give the question or suggestion, and then give my answer on my blog.  you may use my questions to inspire you to start your own personal journal, either on your own blog, or in a nice little writing journal.  they have a ton of cute/pretty/handsome journals out there for just this purpose.  or you could just use one of your kid's plain old spiral notebooks.  they work just as well.

so, without further ado, my next post is the first journal jar assignment....enjoy & be creative.
